The Double

The Rucksack Club's first meet of the year is a tough 25 mile walk/run over the moorland between Marsden and Edale, in Derbyshire.

Held early in January conditions are rarely good but for some the single crossing isn't quite enough so "The Double" starts in Edale on Friday with the intention of reaching Marsden in time for breakfast and fit enough to turn round and walk/run back to Edale.

This year conditions were a little difficult and almost grim just before dawn but about half those pictured above completed both crossings.
