Trad on the tyne

The kids were all dancing in that big tent at the Silent Disco. That was a new one on me - the kids are all given headphones and the music is played directly into the headphones rather than over a PA and so the kids dance like loons but in silence. Allowing the parents to sit and have a chat, watch the spectacle and make the most of the pie and a pint promotion.

I popped out to take a few photos just before that cloud dumped a deluge onto the scene for the next thirty minutes.

Just before I arrived Mrs Smith told me there had been a pipe band, a fiddle band and the silent disco all on the go at the same time which had been a bit experimental and challenging.
