It's getting near closing time
This is the first day since the rescue of Tess that we have tried to work on the allotment.
Rain, on and off and a nosy [and noisy] little dog made life interesting.
An hour of digging was the best we could manage. In that time Tess had eaten some fennel and a small butternut squash, heaven only knows what effects that will have!
Back home in the garden we have a resurgence of flowering from the dahlias and the roses are blooming their last.
There is, obviously, still nectar to be had, but for the drowsy hover-flies and wasps the bar must be closing!
