Endora Rides Again

I took Poppy to the dog park this morning where she got to run off some energy. As we were leaving I noticed that the two tires on the left side of my car were looking very low, the back one almost looked flat. I drove home very carefully and when I got home I called the Chrysler dealer to see if I could bring it in. I was overdue for my three month oil change anyway, so I thought I might as well get that over with as well. They were able to get me in at 4 pm and I was hoping It wouldn't take more than 45 minutes or so. Well, it took quite a bit longer. I was there for over 2 hours. They discovered that the type of wheels I have on the car for some reason were rubbing against the valve stems of the tires causing them to gradually wear down to the point where they were causing air to leak out. For some reason it was just the wheels on the left side of the car. Then, after they replaced the valve stems, they discovered that the seal around the left rear tire wasn't sealed properly also causing the tire to lose air. So, that had to be fixed. Anyway, I'm glad I took it in before I ended up with two flat tires.

While I was waiting for the work to be done I sat in the waiting room and read the book I brought along. The giant screen TV was set to a station showing old sitcoms. First, was "I Dream of Jeannie," and then an episode of "Betwitched," came on. I remember watching "Bewitched" every week as a kid back when we only had a black and white TV, so it's still somewhat of a novelty for me to see an episode in color. Check out the eye-makeup on Agnes Moorehead playing Endora! Not to mention her sixties kaftan. I was the only one in the waiting room, so I had turned down the volume so I could read, but there was also music piped into the room which I had no control over. It was tuned to an oldies station and I could hear Cher singing "Gypsies, Tramps and Thieves." For a while I thought I had been transported back to the early seventies.
