Crocodile Rock
This is one that I think truly deserves to fill your screen!
It's odd that I haven't blipped this spot before, but I've been waiting for the right moment. It's such a dramatic place that it deserved some dramatic weather, which was duly delivered today. Now, blipping has changed my life in a number of ways. As an avid walker, runner, cyclist I've always had a fairly close eye to the weather, but usually to avoid the arrival of these kinds of clouds. Nowadays when I see such wonderfully portentous skies I am out of the door with my camera in a flash. Fortunately I did take time to pick up my raintop - which was very quickly needed just a few minutes after taking this shot.
The Crocodile Rock, named because from below it takes on the shape of a crocodile's jaw, is just about the first thing I see when I wake up in the morning. From my bed I have a view which opens out onto the moor and this crag is very prominent. It's a special place to me. I hope I've done it justice with this shot. I almost posted a black and white version, but in the end was swayed by the colour of the heather, which I love so much. It won't be in bloom for very much longer now.
Thanks for all your good wishes re the work situation. This is a working weekend for me but there will be some time for relaxation. I can't really complain, not living where I do!
