Soft Pretzels

Experimenting with yeast breads and high elevation (7,200 feet) baking. Not a perfect pretzels shape but the flavor and texture are spot on! Next up, cinnamon rolls...as soon as Mr. Odd Days gets home from the grocery store with some eggs.

Baking and cooking in general are much different at this altitude than they were in Port Angeles (sea level). Cookies and brownies have been either under-baked or dry. Water boils at a lower temp so rice and pasta take longer and require more water. Even my homemade pudding didn't thicken on the first attempt. Some how though the family doesn't seem to mind baking experiments!
