Dundee & Broughty Ferry, from the Tay
It's a been an odd day.
We were planning a dive trip, taking to club RIB over to the Clyde, but unfortunatley we had to cancel on route.
Plan B was to launch in the Tay not usually a dive destination, head right out to the mouth of the estuary and see if we could ping some of the unknown shipwreck marks on the nautical charts, with a view to possibly diving one.
Suprisingly we located something with the echosounder, rising a good 2-3 m off the flat sea bed at 22m. We attempted to dive it but almost zero visibility and a raging currant made us turn back without us actually visiting the unknown wreck.
The conditions on the way back in were perfect; flat calm and great clouds making the view into Dundee and Broughty Ferry wonderfully dramatic.
From far left; Tay road bridge, dundee, broughty ferry and Broughty Castle extreme right
