Northern Star

By Lifferz

Lightbulb moment!

Suddenly today I had one of those wonderful moments of insight and understanding.
Sadly though this meant I had to let go of some stress and worry that had built up over the last few months and this inevitably, for me, resulted in an almighty migraine headache and all the illness that goes with it. Thankfully I have just managed to eat something and keep an asprin down :-)

Worry is such a draining and negative emotion. I found a helpful quote this week, "Do not let what you cannot do interfere with what you can do" and last week I found, "Worry does not empty tomorrow of its sorrow; it empties today of its strength."

Letting go of worry is sometimes a hard thing to do for me but it should be something I do more readily in future. The great thing is I am feeling positive about all the things I have wasted hours worrying about so that has got to be a great thing!

When I look back
I see the landscape
That I have walked through
But it is different

All the great trees are gone
It seems there are
Remnants of them

But it is the afterglow
Inside of you

of all those you met,
who meant something in your life.

I think this poem is by a Norweigian poet - it is featured at the start of a-ha's 'Lifelines' video which you can find on You Tube if you are interested. The video was shot over the course of a year and shows the seasons changing the landscape- wonderful!
