Trickle and Thrum

deer resting in the shadows in Benmore Gardens, Argyll. Spotted by two Irish ladies who were convinced it was a dummy! Disproved when I tried to approach and it jumped up and ran off at great speed. :)

We originally intended to head down to Eglinton Castle today but the weather was so good, we took the ferry across to Cowal and walked the Benmore Gardens instead. I'd forgotten that with so many non-indigenous trees and good drainage on the hilly parts, the fungi in this garden is scant compared to other woodland. Still it was a pleasant walk.
