Christmas Store

For those of you who care...CHRISTmas is only 98 days away.

In Michigan circles...the city of Frankenmuth is
known far and wide. It is known for its German heritage, its clean,
flower-covered streets, and its chicken dinners. On the main streets...2 chicken
palaces face each other, both owned by the same family...the Bronners. We ate at
a place called Zendhers...which is more contemporary. On the other side of the
street is the Bavarian Inn. The servers there wear those peasant dresses, and
the men wear leidenhosen. Everything about the meal was good...except for the
price. The family style meal costs 19.50 apiece. That buys a lot of KFC, but it
was nice to go up there for a change.

It was my son-in-law Dougs birthday. It was his
special day. On the way out of town, he made the mistake of saying he had never
been to Bronners Christmas Wonderland...the worlds biggest Christmas store. We
pulled in. When he walked in the door...he looked like a 4 year-old waking up on
Christmas morning. They ended up buying baby Merrick a personalized stocking for
his first Christmas. Merrick was unimpressed with the immense store. Google it.
It's really something.

The Santa suits won out. The wig/beard combos went
from 39 dollars up to 125. The Santa suits went from $299 up to $999
dollars...which leads to my closing poem...IF YOU WANT TO PLAY KRIS
KRINGLE...YOU GOT TO HAVE A LITTLE JINGLE. IF YOU WANT TO WEAR THE BANGS...YOU
GOT TO HAVE A LITTLE CHANGE.
