QE2

Hospital, Birmingham.

Sorry, not the best quality photo that I've ever uploaded, but it's the only barely passable one that emerged from my phone for yesterday.

Spent large part of the day in Birmingham, having driven P back to uni (that's year number 6 / ?), he having moved house over the summer, I had a very full car full on the way there. I don't think we'll see much of him this year, which hasn't quite hit us yet - what he's doing now is both a job and a course, so his leave is somewhat negotiable.

The photo is the new Queen Elizabeth 2nd Hospital, just a stone's throw from the uni. It has not been open long and looks very impressive - it can be seen from miles away. It's over £500 million worth of building, with 30 operating theatres, over 1200 beds and includes a military ward too.

Journey back was ok until hitting the M1 and M25. How can people use these roads every day? I suppose that the fact there are so many road works does mean they will improve in the next year or so.
