A grey day in Preston
Had my daily walk around Preston Docks today. A very grey, drizzly day.
The Albert Edward Dock opened in 1892 and at that time it was the largest single dock in the country and at one time was the largest single basin dock in Europe. It was mainly used for landing cotton and wood.
The docks are now home to mainly pleasure craft.
In the background you can also see the Spire of St. Walburge's church. The highest parish church spire in England.
