Nerf Gun Wars
It has been an exhausting week and let me tell you that I'm glad to say its over and what a better way to end it than with a Nerf Gun War?
I spent all week preparing for the weekend and to have Carter's Birthday party which was then following up a couple hours later by Jacks. It was exhausting especially since we had two soccer games on top of it.
Yesterday we played soccer then Carter's friends all came over to celebrate at 3:30. We rented a bounce house and despite there being some injuries I think all the kids had fun. It was organized chaos...actually I'm not sure if I would even call it organized but they did have fun. Then at 6pm six of Jack's 9 and 10 year old friends all came over for a sleepover birthday party. Let me tell you I was NOT prepared for what I had in store. Boy drama, I thought girls only did that? I had one more coming off of his adhd meds and was convinced everyone was mean to him so he tried running away three times where I had to chase him up the road. Finally I convinced him to stay but not before he said he would come back if he got to punch my son in the face or have two of his toys. Oh boy..I did not sign up for this. I chalked it up to his meds wearing off. Eventually he calmed down. The boys were up until 4 am, yes I said 4 am having nerf gun wars inside my house. Ugh, we tried settling them down several times but no such luck. Needless to say we are all exhausted today and could use a mellow day at home. Scott and Jack decided to have a Nerf war of their own though and set up a shooting obsitcal course. Boys will be boys!
I've been away from blip lately and I don't like it however things have been so busy with party planning, school and other things I haven't had time to blip and have fallen very behind on all your blips too. I'm sorry! It's been a rough week though and it was topped off by a trip to the dr. to be diagnosed with a staph infection in my leg. As some of you know I had a summer riddled with all sorts of bad luck then two weeks ago I broke my toe and now a staph infection too? Please tell me my bad luck will go away soon and please tell me this isn't just "life". I'd prefer some happier and easier times ahead of me...please :)
