Ex-term-in-ate!
In the good old American tradition of self-promotion, Honest Lou's offers do-it-yourself pest control solutions in a style that is hard to miss. This narrow wedge-shaped shop on a fork is garishly painted and daubed with slogans like 'The Bug Stops Here' and 'Bug Birth Control Center'; crude drawings of huge fleas laying eggs and a strange child (with a woman's face and hairstyle) in a playpen invaded by rats; and offers of glue traps, paraffin blocks and alarming chemical compounds guaranteed to kill all known pests (and what else?). On one side of the door a Super Mario look-alike seems to be wielding a soda syphon and on the other side the all-inclusive legend Season's Greetings suggests that every time of the year is extermination time.
Just one of the many curious sights to be seen in the streets of Philadelphia.
