So...working over the other side of the county again and I managed to stop & take this through the car's open window.

Its a derelict croft at Benechielt. The county is littered with abandoned homes, but this stretch has a lot of them...remnants of the Highland Clearances.

Families driven out of Sutherland came north and settled here, some for a relatively short time before leaving for Canada, American and Australia.

Driving through here in winter-time is quite something...the most depressing place I think I've ever been.
