Identity

I've been talking recently with a client about the notion of social identities - the notion that the person we are is made up of a load of different facets or labels. It's quite amazing, really, the number of different "I am a..." sentences you can write about yourself. Try it.

Then look at the labels you choose to wear at any given time. I don't wear 'coach' and 'slob' at the same time, so what would my house be like if I chose to wear 'coach', with all its implications of effectiveness and enhanced performance, when I'm there with no clients watching?



Of course, now I write this, I realise that one of the labels that is missing from the selection pictured is 'Blipper'. Oops.
