Manchester from Salford

I'm reading 'The Fallen', it's a book about all the musicians that have played with The Fall.
It's really good, very funny and gives some idea as to why the area has such a wonderful musical history.
Today I was in manchester/Salford and the red brick and grey skies took on a certain romanticism.
The council vandals in their eternal quest for all things new will continue to pull down Manchesters history replacing it with 'World Class glass' tenements!!!
