Because I couldn't resist them!
Whenever we walk down the village we have to pass under a magnificent chestnut tree. It's huge, already it has cracked the garden wall and pushed up the narrow pavement. What it's ultimate fate will be I don't know. But for now it continues to produce it's lovely fruits which are scattered everywhere. I just cannot resist picking up a few to bring home to enjoy looking at in the kitchen.
A full morning in the Oxfam shop and more bargains to be had. Great place for finding bits of elusive pieces of costuming for the play. First batch of apple and walnut chutney this afternoon, one more and I think that's it for this year.
PS. The dish by the way, is a decorated gourd (hope that's spelled correctly) from Peru.
