Kaiserslautern, Einsiedlerhof: Kicked Out

At 6:45 am we got kicked out of our train (on the right) - a railway switch damage was announced. And a new train in 10 minutes. The platform is very long and was very crowded with poor commuters like me. Many more people than you can see in this shot.

8 minutes later I took this photo.
15 minutes later our old train headed back the other direction.
25 minutes later the new train arrived.
35 minutes later we finally arrived at the Kaiserslautern central station.
37 minutes later I decided not to take the bus, but walk to the city center (bus way too crowded with students, school starts at 8 am!).
50 minutes later I stopped at the bakery.
55 minutes later I arrived at work.

It was ok. Only going to work, not on the run.

The only thing we didn't understand while we were waiting freezing and tired on this platform (5°C this morning!): How did the two trains that went by (and didn't stop!) manage to get across this damaged switch? We will never know.

(View in large and on the left you can see how tired one can be at this time of the day.)

12 hours later: Publishing a new entry to blipfoto.

6:45 pm 17,9°C
