Man Hunt
Subtitled: Why I will never make it as a news photographer
We were over in Belfast for the day for an afternoon meeting. Had to get the early Easyjet, so we had some time to kill and we went for a wander around the Botanic Gardens in the sunshine.
After a while we noticed that a helicopter had been hovering overhead for quite a while, and then that it was a police helicopter. (Not that unusual a sight in Belfast in the bad old days, but not so common now)
Then the first of three rather sweaty and slightly-plumper-than-they-should-have-been-for-this-sort-of-malarkey policemen ran through the bushes, apparently in hot pursuit of who knew who.
Then we saw another one, with his truncheon drawn. And then another running through the bushes (in another direction), obviously being directed by the chopper.
I took several pictures, and in every one part of the policeman is obscured by a tree.
So if you need some drama and excitement photographed - probably best to call someone else.
