An Old Airman's Life

Autumn Leaves

Today is the first day of autumn. Our weatherman must have gotten the memo. Right on que we have fall temperatures. It was 56 degrees this morning when I went out to walk the dogs. Beemer and I were thrilled. Flame not so much. The ride to work was cool, and all of the joggers had on long sleeved shirts. I stopped to photograph a stand of brown plants along the Katy trail. After taking 15 or so pictures of these plants, I snapped a quick one of the leaves and stones along the fence. As usual, I found the shot taken as an aside was the best of the lot.

Looking forward to a weekend of bike riding and socializing. Tonight we go to the Texas and Pacific Tavern's one year anniversary party. Hope to get in a fairly long ride tomorrow then do some grocery shopping on my bike. Have to get rid of some of the weight I gained when I was down for my nose job.

Looking forward to visiting my friend in the nursing home on Sunday. A thought has been bouncing around in my head all week is that I went their last week with a "gift" for him. He was not ready for it, nor did he ask for it. He did "ask" for other things, but I was not focused on his needs as much as on my giving my "gift." I pray that I will be in a better frame of mind so that will not happen again.
