Trip to the dentist!

It was that time again this morning. Although I do not believe in taking kids out of school for routine appointments, I have had to challenge this belief recently. After our dentist left and there was a shortage in dentist in Bridlington, this meant we didn't have one for a year. We eventually got one and she is brilliant but doesn't work school holidays. Therefore needs must and early this morning rather than the school run, we had a trip to the dentist.

As you can see the kids are excited about this (though all slightly nervous). As usual the kids were fine but not me.....! I have decided to perceive this in a positive light by being an example to the children of what happens if you eat too many sweets as a child and only brush your teeth at night (as I was taught as a child). After a filling (and a sticker later, thanks Jas) they are convinced of the importance of brushing their teeth twice a day now.

The children were then dropped at their respective schools and I met up with friends for a lunch out -steak pie, chips and peas and gravy! Mmmmmmmm. It was delicious. A night snuggled up chilling out with the family is in order. Can't wait!
