Exterminate , Exterminate ......
Had a really bad day yesterday , didn't even use my camera, and that is unheard of in our household.
The sore throat germ I caught 3 weeks ago is back with a vengeance , in fact it didn't really get better , just less sore. Any way to crown that I had severe pain in my upper gum and by last night my eye was half closed. Up early and off to the doctor this morning ( one very good thing about living in our part of rural Argyll is that we don't need appointments , just turn up lke the good old days and wait) Just as I thought I had an abscess in the root of a tooth. One prescription for penicillin which works on teeth, according to our good doctor.
When I eventually got the opportunity to mention the aforementioned throat the good doctor decided I needed penicillin for the throat infection. As the first perescription worked only on teeth he gave me a prescription for a medication which was much stronger and could deal with both the throat and gum infection. So have started this wonder drug and hope it does it's double job . Exterminate , exterminate !!!
Off course the way my mind works I remembered an idea I had ages ago to put to good use a workshop we had at the camera club last year. This involved photographing the image in complete darkness , but using a torch to paint light on the subject to create whatever effect you are aiming for. You use the bulb setting on the camera, holding down the remote button while using the light for as long as you require. Took a few attempts using different timings and angles for the torchlight.
I was quite surprised at how the different direction of the light made Dr Who look either benign , evil , sinister etc. Yet another learning curve and I'm going to buy different kinds of torches to create other effects. Can see a lot of fun in the winter months when I can't get out.
