Heart wood

This is a tree that stands just outside Walton Hall; I've passed many times but it wasn't until I was waiting for a taxi that I chanced to look up and see the heart that had been formed around some previous tree surgery.

I thought I'd published this in the evening when I got home, but it didn't "take"!
