Travels with a Ginger Dad

Varanus Salvator

Woke up a tad dusty this morning; Simebo always was a bad influence.

Took my usual approach to the morning after, get the family out the house; confined spaces are a no-no. Headed out to the Chinese Gardens at Jurong only to find it shut (to tear down the Lantern/Moon Festival equipment), but one further stop on the MRT takes you to the Lakeside Park.

There appeared to be a corporate dragon boat competition going on, which provided G with a bit of a distraction while I sweated it out on the adventure playground with the kids.

Blip is a Water Monitor we saw at the side of the reservoir. I think this is the same sub-species they have in Thailand, where (so the story goes) it brings bad luck and is nicknamed "The Bad Guy"; I can't remember the Thai version.

Simebo has now headed off to the airport to catch his flight back to Brizzie, leaving me with the sound of the Grand Prix, a half empty (full?) bottle of Jim B, and the last vestiges of a headache.
