Bunker at Soar

We visited the old cold war bunker at what was once known as RAF Soar. So much history on our doorstep. Until a couple of years ago I wasn't even aware it existed. This is where our local government would have hidden in the event of a nuclear attack. It was an air base during WWII, and planes from here would have been involved in protecting Plymouth during the blitz.

Now deserted, sold off for storage or goodness knows what. Today they opened it up for a visit and some re-enactment, with vintage vehicles and period costumes.
