Curried Corned Beef Whirls
Generally speaking, I'm not particularly keen on corned beef, but I do like this recipe. Basically, you make shortcrust pastry, adding a hefty teaspoon of curry powder; roll out and spread it with a mashed up mix of corned beef, chopped onion, egg and salt & pepper. Roll it up and glue the edges with water. Slice it and cook the slices on a greased tray in a hot oven for about half an hour.
It's a useful quick and easy stand-by as long as you have a tin of corned beef on the shelf. The beans, by the way, were home-grown by Mr PicturePoems' aunt - and delicious they were too!
