Worrying....

Today up at the Mer de Glace - the glacier on Mont Blanc. We went up by rack and pinion tramway to the station at Montenvers. When the track was built at the end of the 19th century you stepped out to enjoy the glacier. 30 years ago the glacier had retreated so far that they had to build a gondola system down to it. Nowadays they have had to build 400 steps further down to reach the ice.
