Back in charge
Back in charge of all he surveys but very delicate. Buddy (or sweety-pie my geriatric cat as the vet called him this morning!) has had a tough couple of months since his RTA. He has been in Scotland with us for two weeks because of the external fixer on his broken leg. Nine hours driving took it out of him (and us!), then he had to get used to the house and the garden and the different routines. He enjoyed having the girls and Pete there the first week and all the fuss that came from them, but then came the nine hours' drive home and his fixer managed to come unfixed at the start of the journey. He was left with three pins in his leg, not attached to the fixer, and one pin out! This did not make for an easy journey or refreshment stops. Then he had to get used to home again and before he knew it he was back in his box and to the vet who kept him for a few hours to remove all the pins.
Now he's back (presently hiding under the bed in case we transport him anywhere else). Whilst I pottered with the holiday washing and tidying, then making the tea, he returned to his favourite spot in the sun in the doorway to make sure there was no encroachment from the neighbour's cats.
Big thankyou to Terry, our vet, who initially thought Buddy would lose the leg.
