Heritage Detectives

It's been a hectic day...

My blip today is from a performance of Bondi Brenda and the Heritage Detectives... This was being performed at the fabulous Simpson House as part of Edinburgh's Doors open day Program...

Synopsis...
Bondi Brenda is a loud mouthed aussie who has set herself up as an Edinburgh Tour Guide (the worst in Scotland) her cliches and un researched stories are then put straight by the young heritage detectives, who introduce us to some true stories about the real people of Edinburgh...

This is the culmination of a really interesting youth project Where over a series of several weeks a bunch of young people investigated the history of Edinburgh, by visiting many of the well known sites and meeting with storytellers, guides and historians... The group then worked together to produce a piece of theatre based on what they had discovered. The wider process was intended to engage them with their city, build confidence, and offer new opportunities and ways of learning.

Today was the first performance, but they hope to repeat the show next month at the parliament...
