Copperas Wood

Some of us went for a stroll in Copperas Wood today with Emma leading the way, reading the footpath signs and arrows. The ground was littered with acorns and sweet chestnuts, the surrounding fields had all been harvested and autumn was looking like it was in full swing.

We went as far as one of the bird hides on the Stour estuary but as the tide was at it's lowest, our feathered friends were mere dots, hundreds of metres out into the mud. I could still hear the curlews though.

Lots of cooking been happening today - nothing burnt which is always a bonus! We're hopefully off a little further up the Stour tomorrow - more into Constable country.
