Medlar fruit
Today we finished the shed roof, delighted as it was hard work carrying all those sods and buckets of earth up the ladder. Took some photos around the garden and chose the fruit of the medlar tree (mesiplus germanica ) The medlar is a small deciduous tree native to Asia, It has beautiful white blossoms in spring and the fruit remains on the tree after the leaves have fallen. The fruit has to be eaten when almost rotten, a process called bletting but they are quite tasty!!!
