Day twenty-one: Charlotte's balancing act

So, Charlie and his magnificent web, were washed away during the storms of the week. :(

K and I went out to eat tonight and she insisted on driving me home, which was fine with me as it was a little late at night to be walking alone. She's a good friend like that. :)

K got to meet all the critters and we chatted for a touch. On the way out of my apartment, K first noticed and then we stopped, our mouths agape. Here was this huge spider web. Where this spider strung her web was simply amazing.

This is the thing: her spider web is a delicate balancing act. One single thread connects the web to a bush that is about 7 feet away. The web is easily 2 feet wide. It is just a marvel.

K and I stared at it for awhile, and then she went home. The shot seemed impossible to take, but I still wanted to try. I took many photos of the whole web and it just wasn't working well, so I centered in on Charlotte. She's quite a lovely spider. This photo came out in an interesting way to me, so here it is for y'all.

The thing about Charlotte and taking the photo: amazing things can happen when you try and you don't negatively talk yourself out of it. Inner persuasion, both positively and negatively, is pretty powerful stuff.

Here's to the balancing act that we all walk. Believe. You might just even astonish yourself.
