Goodbye Port Dougie
We are now back in Townsville after a 5+ hour drive. But before we headed back, we went for a browse around their weekly Sunday market. We were there at 8am, made one or two purchases (as you do), went had breakie overlooking this little beach and jetty. This building was used as a warehouse for the sugarcane industry, but not any more. As you can see the sun was very strong & blue skys made a strong contrast against the white painted building.
We are off out for dinner tonight (where do they get their energy), meeting up with Kaylene's brother & family and her Dad - it is always great to see them, play with their little girls (Ruby & Lulu)...they are all from the Timaru but have now made their homes here in Townsville.
Thank you all so much for all the goodies you gave my water picie..... - it was a experiment that turned out not too bad.
The kids are back to work tomorrow, not sure what the week will hold for Doug & I, perhaps a good clean & sort out of photo's on the lappy may be a worthwhile call.
I have read one book The Road by Cormac McCarthy, a terrible story but one hard to put down, and I am now reading Goodbye Sarajevo, true story which I am enthralled in.
I have one eye on Russia v Ireland.....love the Irish :) Off to try & spruce myself up a little, then out we go.
Rainie (who was very relieved that the AB's had a good win)
