Moscow's birthday

Tonight Alfa Bank put on a huge light show projected onto the building of the Moscow State University. It celebrated Moscow's birthday on 4th September, as well as Alfa's 20th anniversary. You can watch it here. Babushka's excellent blip also catches something of the event.

It took us about an hour to get from the beginning of the crowds to the 'VIP section' right at the front, where we were treated to excellent views. Apart from the police running the gates between sections, though, people were cheerful, the weather was balmy, and there were long, amiable queues for beer.
