Robins Nest Open
The weather looked good so we headed out for yesterdays original destination, Robin Hill Country Park. After eventually getting some cash out in Cowes (one of the banks has disappeared) we were on our way.
Robin Hill was fantastic, so big with so much to do. Thankfully we can go back later in the week for free as we did not manage to get to do everything. We did manage to do the following though:
-Woodland Walk, seeing lots of amazing sculptures and stuff. Note - Townie little ones get very hungry in the woods.
-Went over rickety bridges over a pond to get to cafe. Note - Buggies with babies in to not travel well on rickety bridges.
-We ate in the Cafe. Note - Little people who spend a whole woodland walk eating snacks do not let parents eat their lunch when there is a playpark near by.
-We went on big. big slides that due to the cold were slidey. Note - Daddies deciding to walk along the side of big slides on hill sides will slip and fall on top of their cameras getting covered in mud in front of lots of people.
-Played on Diggers. Note - this is expensive during periods of rain
-Went on tobbogon run. Note - Is not best idea to claim that your Wife is lying about seeing the first red squirrel when going up to start her run and also Toddler may need her eyes tested after claiming that Mummy was faster than Daddy.
-Went to high lookout point. Note - In the far off fields there was still a huge amount of rubbish still to be cleared from Bestival.
-Went to the Bestival cinema. Note - Baby will sleep when put in a dark room with loud music.
-Went to the Afric play park. Note - This is the best place to survive a sudden downpour with availability to Tea and candyfloss ice cream.
-Went on Cow themed train ride and maze. Note - Toddler liked to be in charge of bell on train and route in maze. She got us out of the maze quick too.
-More woodland walk with music making and rope climbs. Note - Daddy's ankles get bruised in giraffe slide at speed.
Baby also did a good joke today. He walked towards his sister with a mini crossiant offering her some. He held it up to her mouth and then as she prepared to bite he smiled at her and walked away clutching his pastry grinning.
So all in all a great day until until bedtime when two overtired little ones decided to start the not gonna go to bed olympics. Baby took the gold going the longest with doublr parent intervention, but Toddler put in a very respectable silver putting in some multiple sprints around the holiday home with Daddy in pursuit.
To be fair to Toddler she was never going to take the gold given the training hours Baby has put in since his birth.
