Zoe begging for a bunny

This is my 11 year old lobbying for a bunny at a petting zoo at a neighborhood festival. We have been arguing about bunnies for weeks now. We have 4 cats. That is plenty of pets. We seriously don't need a bunny. Yes, they are cute. But, that doesn't mean we need to own one.

The reason I love this picture is that it echoes another close up picture we have of her when she was 1. You can see the same amazing blue eyes that she had when she was 1 are still the same now that she is 11. When Zoe was 1, I was so curious to what she would look like when she grew up. Now that she is 11, I can see glimpses of the amazing woman she will become. Components like her giving personality, determination, easy laughter, steadfast friendship, and wicked smarts are already evident. It is such an honor and a privilege to be her mom and get to be here to help guide her to become who she is meant to be.
