Taking Flight

Off to a daylong hike in the local mountains, the Vosges. Picture perfect day and so many great photo opps. I am rediscovering my own country through my lens and I'm liking what I see! :)

The day was also perfect for hand-glidding, as depicted here, against the backdrop of the range of mountains. At one point, there were as many as 21 glidders up in the air -- a veritable traffic jam!

We took lunch at a ferme auberge and I ate the most wonderful tarte aux myrtilles (blueberries). The berries were picked right on the mountain: they are small, very dark and bursting with taste. Good thing I'm doing more walking here than back in the States or else I'd have gone back with an extra 50lb.... ;)
