....If I had a scale......
Last Summer League match today.
Drew a middle peg (10)....not good.
Bucked the trend.....every one fished the pole to the far bank.......I fished the tip half a metre short of the bank.....everyone used pellets or paste for bait....I used luncheon meat.
Set off like an express train........four carp in the first half hour....then I hooked into a monster....and lost it.....all I was left with was this scale!
Peaked too soon.....(no risque or ribald comments please, I had enough of them this morning)....after the big fish got off it spooked the entire swim.....not another touch for nearly two hours.
Eventually caught another couple of carp....but, by then several of the boys had passed me and I was playing catch up.....thirty minutes from the end caught a beautiful big chub on a worm. It hit the bait and took off like a torpedo....straight for the reeds, hauled it out and landed it....but the match was over.
Finished mid table....8th out of 15.....as expected the winners (1st, 2nd and 3rd) came from the high numbers......but I had a really good day, the afternoon was warm and sunny and Rach made gorgeous panfried barbecue style chicken and pasta for dinner....now it's time to go for a beer with D & B.
And I've already got tomorrows blip sorted out!
Will comment when I get back from the pub.
