County Arcade, Leeds
Leeds is renowned for its late Victorian and Edwardian shopping arcades.
These have been renovated and added to in recent years with the renaissance of Leeds City Centre. The County Arcade was built around 1900 and designed by the theatre architect Frank Matcham.
The exteriors are largely of faience from the Burmantofts Pottery works, and the interiors of the arcades contain a number of mosaics and plentiful use of marble.
