Egg Jar

The Chinese have a delicacy called a '100 year egg.' Usually it's nothing of the sort, more like 100 days, BUT, it still looks revolting. Duck eggs are encased in a mixture of mud and rice husks, then left to ferment in these jars. You may have seen something similar at garden centres, priced around £100, we bought three for Malay $4, about £1 each, 30 years ago. This jar would contain about 50-60 eggs, we also have a larger one that contained 100.
