Monday: Steve

Where can I begin to tell you about Steve?  He has been one of my very closest friends for 20 years.  We first met when we were working in Bangladesh, where we spent the next three years together.  Since then, we have been a part of each others lives, sometimes to varying degrees, but always there.  On occasions, he has worked away, or I have worked away, but we always know where we are and what's going on. We have had a lot of fun together but have also been there for each other when things went wrong.  

Steve has spent the last nine months working in Warsaw and is now back in London.  Hurrah!  We are going to buy a little sign, saying 'Steve's Room' for when we move to Croatia.  

We met up for lunch in Soho today and decided that we would both be quite happy giving up work and just lunching.  Because he has been away, Steve has not yet witnessed my blip obsession and was initially a bit bemused when I said: 'Can I take your photo and put it on the internet for people to comment on?', but he was soon won over.    

Everyone should have a Steve.
