The epitome of fell racing.
A campsite; a tent for collecting race fees and handing out numbers along with 2 tags per runner.
The runners simply race to the top of England, hand in the first of their tags to the marshal waiting there then run back down to where another marshal waits in his deckchair with his arm out to mark the finish; hand the second tag in and collect some free homemade flapjack and a cup of juice.
Look carefully and you might spot a legend in fellrunning circles, still out running 3 times a week and well into his seventies.
