Caerphilly Castle

C's interest in Wales and Welsh culture began when she started writing to a pen pal, Sheila, in Caerphilly fifty years ago. They've been friends ever since, and we always visit Sheila and her husband Ken whenever we go back to Wales.

The castle in the center of Caerphilly, though not well known, is one of the largest fortresses in Europe, and has a tower which leans more than the famous Tower of Pisa. Ken gladly drove us to the best viewpoints when I told him I needed a blip for the day.
