The appliance of science

The concrete lintel over this window is 2.8m long and reinforced with steel bars and weighs, if not a ton, damn near! It took us all day, Mike and I, with a bit of help from our kind neighbours, but finally it was in place!

We had wedges, ropes, pulleys and levers, strong lengths of rope and big planks of wood and with a bit of forethought and planning, we did it! Isn't physics wonderful!
