Cubism Day 7
Time to get the top corners in the right place!
All the colours have come out wrong in this photo - the top is yellow (not white) and the left hand side is orange (not red).
All the corner cubes are on the right position now, although not necessarily twisted the right way. The routine for swapping this moves three corner cubes around, leaving the third one in place. I think this is visually an interesting routine. The back right cube is slid forward, then left, then down. This causes the base layer to break, so it needs to be repaired. The act of repairing the base layer brings the original cube back on to the top layer in the new position.
Of course I do mention in a previous blip that all displacements occur in pairs yet three cubes are displaced. My previous argument stands, however, because there are three pairs of displacement that occur in such a way that some cubes are displaced twice, with displacement two negating displacement one (i.e. when breaking and repairing the base layer).
Time to get corners in place: 15 seconds
