Sagging team spirit

During the Red Sox's soul-crushing September swoon, fans have watched in horror as a team that looked like baseball's best collapsed like a dying star.
The meltdown, which despite last night's win could still cost the team a once all-but-certain playoff berth, has left fans apoplectic.
Some, their spirits beaten down by the blur of defeats, say they feel like boxers who have taken too many punches. They have nothing left to give. Others have maintained a flicker of faith to carry them into tonight's finale. All agree this month has been a nightmare, a slow-drip poison that has turned a promising season into pure pain.

Down to the final game, lose tonight, no Wild Card play-off berth, season over, end of story. The old fans like me are used to this, but to the youngsters this will come as a shock. It's been a winning home team bonanaza in recent years with all the sports.

I've been a Red Sox fan all my life. Some seasons more than others. This one has been hunt and peck, keeping up with the results from the sports news, but not watching many games on television. Today I'm trying to focus on baseball while we wait for Raspberry's urine culture results on Friday. I see a lot of improvement today in ease at the box and more productive, pretty normal. She's halfway through her prescription. Fingers crossed that it is just a UTI and not what the vet ,trying to be kind checking up on her yesterday afternoon, mentioned... bladder stones requiring surgery.

Thanks for the great response to Raspberry's yawning photograph yesterday, she's a precious little imp, clown and cuddler, the light of our lives.

RaspberrySallieBerry bathroom update...

Two significant voiding trips with no straining. Seems like a good sign to me. At least she is comfortable again.

For the Record,
This day came in sunny with rain on the way, less humidity, but no late summer shining day by any means.
