Mystery still
This is the patch of garden in the wood that I discovered yesterday and mentioned in yesterday's blip of "memorial hands". You can see it's just a scratched out square in rough ground in a small wood. A building plot is to the right (mostly out of sight but nice and bright because the trees have been felled). You can see some of the builders' rubble, planks and stuff in background. The lane runs about 2 metres behind camera and the wood continues to the left. Looks to me like it could soon revert back to wild. The land belongs to the developer who had planning permission to build two houses on the site. One was built - finished about a year ago but didn't sell at £595,000 and has been reduced to 495,000 for several months. I can't see why he would bother with this effort as it's hardly a value-adding attraction. The houses on the next road back on to this patch but there's a fence barring easy access so it can't be them surreptitiously extending their domain. I did think of bored children just messing about for a bit of harmless fun but the plants that look like dying trees are a Victoria Plum and a Braeburn Apple. And there's an Azalea. All labelled so probably cost something. Next time I see the developer I'll ask him - he's around quite a lot as he has to keep everything neat and tidy for potential buyers. The stone I blipped yesterday can just be seen on the right of the garden.
