New Dawn
This is such a pretty climbing rose and very special - as it has had a really rough time since our sustained minus 16 degrees last winter - and so many of my plants really suffered. It is called New Dawn.
I take such strength from these tender plants in their fight to survive. Next time I whinge about something tough, I shall have a wee think about what I REALLY need to do to preserve myself and what the tough problem needs to move along - not to an end point, but just to the next step that will make a small but significant difference. How philosophical!! In time, it will be resolved - just like this rose can now flourish
THANK YOU ALL for your very kind wishes and comments yesterday. I really did appreciate them all. They made me smile and feel very happy.
I had another fab day today - possibly attributable to the weather. An incredible thing happened as we all sat in the sun having lunch. We were close to the outside electrical cupboard and near to where the kids and one very fit member of staff parks her bike. There was such a loud EXPLOSION - which appeared to come from the electric cupboard. I asked out loud in a very inappropriate use of language what on earth (!) had happened - saw smoke and tore inside to get round to the other side of the fence where the kids were to make sure they were ok. Flashing through my mind was gunshot, electric fault, kitchen disaster, blood, fatality - yes I was in a panic. I then heard the laughter.
It was my fit member of staff's rear tyre exploding in the heat. No idea how it happened. but boy was I glad that was all it was. Thank goodness it happened then and not when she was riding it!! Whew!
