Recovery

Day One of my re-upholstery course. Rather annoyingly it appears to have co-incided with the hottest week of the year...not really the best use of the weather but who was to guess it would come at the end of September.

It's a real treat to have some time to learn something new for myself. even the first three and a half hours, which involved removing 10 billion staples and tacks, was oddly relaxing. By the end of the day I'd managed to make two large sideburns out of horsehair and turn them into some lovely covered padding for the wingbacks. Progress indeed. Looking forward to getting the delicious new fabric onto the sad old chair tomorrow :)
